Lil Wayne joue les acteurs dans « Patriots ». Il sera à l'écran accompagné de Forest Whitaker et Bow Wow.

Le rappeur joue un personnage appelé Lamont, élève dans un lycée de la Nouvelle Orléans. Il reste sceptique face à la nouvelle équipe de Basket de son école. « Wayne est passé d'un rôle secondaire à un premier rôle parce qu'il nous a prouvé qu'il savait jouer » déclare Katina Bynum, vice-présidente du marketing chez Universal. « Nous sommes très pressés de voir ce que ça va donner, surtout que son rôle est positif, bien loin des clichés. »

« Patriots » est adapté de l'histoire vraie d'une équipe dont les joueurs avaient écûmé 5 différentes écoles avant l'ouragan. Katrina les a rendus solidaires et leur a permis d'atteindre le championnat de leur état.

50 Cent reconnait avoir fait une erreur en sortant deux chansons à connotation sexuelle de suite, « Candy Shop » et « Amusement Park ». C'est pourquoi il n'hésite pas à avertir Lil Wayne de ne pas faire la même bétise avec « Lollipop ».

Le rappeur est le premier à admettre que son dernier album, "Curtis" n'était pas à la hauteur de ce que l'on pouvait attendre. Il a même qualifié son CD de fausse copie. Selon lui, son erreur a été de cibler un public féminin. « J'avais envie de créer un contenu à tendance sexuel, mais pas obscène. »

Selon 50, après “Candy Shop” le public ne pouvait pas supporter une autre chanson comme celle-ci de sa part. « Concernant Lil' Wayne, c'est la première fois qu'il sort un titre de ce style, mais ils ne suivront pas s'il continue sur cette lancée. »

Le rappeur ne pense pas que Lil Wayne pourra rencontrer le même succès avec un autre titre à connotation sexuelle. « Le public va se dire, allez la même chose encore et juste zapper. »

Lil Wayne c'est ; cinq albums solo, 6 album en colabo, des mixtapes en veux-tu en voilà, des featuring à gogo, etc...
Dans le monde du hip hop, Weezy est partout, chaque artiste veut son feat avec lui, mais pourquoi ?
Pourquoi un tel buzz ?
Quand on y regarde de plus près, Lil Wayne n'a pas un excellent flow, il est souvent offbeat (les groupies diront que c'est son style)
Au niveau des lyrics, même s'il a de bonnes punchlines, il a été prouvé que c'est un grand swagger jagger qui reprend les plus grandes punchlines des plus grand mcees.
Alors pourquoi ? Pourquoi une telle réussite ? Pourquoi un tel statut ? Doit-il cela à ses beats ? Sa voix ? Mérite-t-il ce succès ?
